Trophy Elk Hunt Opening Week Rifle: Oct 22 6 days | $5500 reduced to $4500 for 2011
hunt in the Big Belt Mtns. private ranch with great success on big Bulls
in the 330-350 range, with average Muleys or Whitetails (hunts are mostly stands on crossings)

Archery Hunt peak of the Elk Rut same location: Sept 20-26 | $4500

Trophy Muley Hunt private ranch that was unhunted for 50 years with Trophy Class Muleys
that score in the 200 range: Nov 10-20 | 3 hunters only

#1.Trophy Elk:

Old price of $4500 still good for 2011. We can hunt this country from a 4x4 or foot, whatever your preference. We have a cabin and fish pond at the lower end of the basin we hunt. This has lots of open country, and works best where we "stand" where we can watch major crossings. The draws are full of timber, and Elk move along these corridors. Lots of glassing, as we don't like to push off the resident Elk.

This doesn't have to be a really strenuous hunt to take a nice Bull. In fact it is more of a stand/spot/stalk hunt. There have been 340-350 Bulls killed here. I mean every year this place produces Bulls around 340; 2007 produced a couple Bulls around 340. This borders FS and 2 other large ranches known for Trophy Bulls. (ever hear of Ted Turner) This place has great opportunities for Big Bulls; the same Bulls on the Turner side of the fence cost about twice what this hunt costs.

This is also mediocre Muley country; but occasionally a nice one is taken.

#2. 6 Day Elk/Deer combo

$3500: Private ranch bordering Nat'l Forest with average Bulls taken (although there are Big Bulls in the high country). We have cabins about 12 miles N of Bozeman/airport. This works best as a drawing for the license, as then you can hunt the Nat'l Forest too.

The Nat'l Forest land can be pretty strenuousbut, but definitely good hunting. There is a draw for trophy Muley Bucks; but Whitetails are available off regular tag; with a healthy population. (can switch to E. MT hunt #3) The partially guided hunt price is $2500

#3. Eastern MT Muley hunt

- 10/days Mule Deer Trophy Hunt: 1 Hunt only, mid-November (peak of the rut): $6500
